About us

Ashizawa Finetech Ltd. has been consistently pursuing state-of-the-art technologies, particularly in the field of grinding and dispersing fine particles, so that our customers can develop and mass-produce high value-added materials that utilize our technology. Through these operations, we have a target to contribute broadly to the development of society and the improvement of our global environment together with our clients. With this target in mind, we re-made our company in 2003, the 100th anniversary year of our original founding.

My wish is to make our company “one of the most venerable but most innovative companies.” To this day, we have been repeatedly taking on new challenges and generating innovations in response to the changing times, while building cooperative relationships with companies outside Japan. With our deep gratitude for the expectations from our clients, we will continue to steadily advance and evolve as a leading manufacturer.

Technical Partnership Supporting Quality

Since 1984, Ashizawa Finetech Ltd. has had a technical partnership with NETZSCH, the world’s leading German manufacturer of grinding and dispersing machinery such as bead mills.
In Japan, Ashizawa manufactures, sells, and provides maintenance of NETZSCH products and NETZSCH offers customer support outside Japan.
With our quarter century long partnership, including mutual dispatching of technicians and other cooperative operations, we will continue offering state-of-the-art Japanese and German fine particle technology.

  • 1903

  • Zingo Ashizawa (1st generation) founds Ashizawa Iron Works as a sole proprietorship, manufacturing products such as pressure vessels and steam boilers in Tsukishima, Chuo Ward, Tokyo.

  • 1935

  • Ashizawa Iron Works becomes a joint-stock company. Naoyoshi Ashizawa (2nd generation) assumed the position of President.

  • 1939

  • A new plant is built in Koto Ward, Tokyo and the headquarters are moved to Koto Ward, Tokyo (the current address of Ashizawa Ltd.).

  • 1946

  • Began manufacturing Mixers and Wet Grinding machines. (the origin of our current business)

1951 – 2000

  • 1951

  • Established Ashizawa Iron Works Ltd.(the current Ashizawa Ltd.) Restarted manufacturing cement product equipment.

  • 1974

  • Naohito Ashizawa (3rd generation) appointed President and Representative Director. The company aims to move away from being a subcontract factory and becomes a leading manufacturer of spray dryers (spun-off in 1978).

  • 1978

  • Restarted manufacturing Mixers and Wet Grinding Machines of joint-stock company, Ashizawa Iron Works.

  • 1984

  • Renamed the company to Ashizawa Ltd, and shifted our core business from Iron Works to the manufacture of high-tech machinery Signed a license agreement for Bead Mill (wet dispersing machine), with NETZSCH Feinmahltechnik GmbH. (Germany) Began joint technological development alongside development of our original machines.

  • 1990

  • Moved the headquarter to Narashino, Chiba.

  • 2000

  • Naotaro Ashizawa (4th generation) assumed the position of President and Representative Director.

  • Founded Ashizawa Finetech Ltd. on the 100th anniversary year of Ashizawa Ltd.. The machine business was then moved from Ashizawa Ltd. to the responsibility of Ashizawa Finetech Ltd.

  • Sales of bead mills developed by

  • Opened the Institute of fine Particle thechnology in Oyama, Tochigi.
